On Wednesday 17th August, we held our very first Law Way workshop. The Law Way workshop is a business development workshop specifically designed in response to the needs of Indigenous Entrepreneurs and Government Departments procuring their services. It was held at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence in Redfern.
We led discussions around the Indigenous Procurement Policy, Joint Ventures with Indigenous Businesses and Indigenous Intellectual Property. There were 5 sessions that were led by three of our lawyers – Terri, Anika and Maiko. Terri spoke about taking advantage of the Indigenous Procurement Policy and Intellectual Property. Anika talked about Setting up Business Foundations and Managing Disputes. Maiko ran a session on Building Your Team.
This Law Way workshop was very successful. We had a full workshop, and generated some great discussions with the participants.
“A great step by step explanation of how to navigate the complexity of government contracts.” Business manager, Construction mentoring and training.
“Highly relevant, highly impactful! Provided a spring board for new knowledge and capability.” CEO, Aboriginal Employment.
“I wish that I had access to Law Way – Indigenous Business and the Law when I first got serious about my brand and business. ‘Must have’ information for any business no matter what your size or time in the game.” Kate Kelleher, KC Consultancy Services (micro business)
