Law Way Workshop - Take 2!

Indigenous Procurement Policy: Legal challenges

On Wednesday 9 November, we held our second Law Way Workshop. The Law Way workshop is a business development workshop specifically designed in response to the needs of Indigenous Entrepreneurs and Government Departments procuring their services. We covered issues relating to joint ventures, black cladding, shareholders deeds, directors duties, sub-contracting agreements and protecting intellectual property. The Workshop was held at the National Centre of Indigenous Excellence (NCIE).

The attendees included large building and construction companies, universities and small Indigenous businesses wanting to grow capacity. We had some great feedback from the last Workshop and that feedback allowed us to improve on what was presented at this Workshop. We also received some great testimonials from the attendees:

“Great course for those starting out in business and wanting to make the most of the IPP” – Accountant, Native Title

“I strongly recommend all Directors of Indigenous Businesses and new and emerging

businesses participant in this course.” – General Manager, Construction

“Great overview, I have learnt so much and will implement many new things into my business. Lots of questions, change and clarify all on time! Which is great!” – Artist

We always have a great day running the Workshops. It was lovely to have a group of people gathered together to learn about Indigenous Business, IPP and how to successfully incorporate the two.
