Looking Out For Business
Looking Out For Business is a two hour workshop, providing an introduction to Intellectual Property (IP) and IP Management Plans for organisations and SME's.
Much of the growth in the Australian business sector has been due to the increasing important of IP assets. However, while more and more business owners are becoming more concerned abotu their IP rights, a substantial number of Indigenous businesses are not taking full strategic advantage of their IP assets to establish competitive advantage, protect cultural integrity and increase corporate profits.
Intellectual Property is an asset, not unlike real estate. It’s your property and is valuable for your economic future. But how are you managing it? What plans can you take to protect your ideas and know-how with copyright, trade marks and designs? To create a plan, an Intellectual Property (IP) Management Plan is more than just a pre-cautionary measure; it’s to clarify the present with a vision to the future.
Who? The workshop is for managers of private businesses, land councils or Indigenous enterprises. Or lawyers, business people, or anyone responsible for manging Intellectual Property assets.
What's included: An afternoon with one of Australia’s leading Indigenous Intellectual Property specialists, afternoon tea, practical advice, networking opportunities and course materials.
