Hello clients, friends and family, we hope you are all keeping your spirits lifted during this time. Like many, we have been working from home and connecting online.


During this time, we have welcomed some awesome people to our team!


Meet Rhiannon Auld (Graduate at Law), a proud Wonnarua woman of the Hunter Valley Region. With a passion for protecting the rights of First Nations people, Rhiannon has experience working in audit and risk management, financial investigations and litigation settings. She has worked in a variety of roles within the legal practice areas of education and civil and family law. We are so excited to have her on our team.


As a Law Graduate, I am excited about the opportunity to work for an internationally renowned law firm which specialises in promoting the rights of First Nations people. I am very fortunate to be working with such an exceptionally talented and passionate legal team -Rhiannon Auld

We are also pleased to welcome Laura Melrose (Solicitor). Laura has a legal background in native title and First Nations rights and interests in relation to land, water, natural resources and cultural heritage, and has conducted research projects in areas of gender, health and environmental law. Laura brings experience in drafting reports and policy submissions, agreement-making, culturally safe engagement with First Nations communities and conducting outreach work on Country. Welcome Laura!

I’m thrilled to be joining Terri Janke and Company. It’s a great source of pride to work with Terri and her team, and I am happy to be learning from and contributing to an organisation that is a driving force for legal advancement in ICIP rights and protections for Indigenous people and organisations - Laura Melrose

Kai Sinor (Senior Solicitor) brings expertise in native title, administrative, corporations and contract law and the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). Kai has over ten years of experience working across a variety of social justice and regulatory issues within Australia and abroad. Kai provides clients with expert advice on governance, regulatory compliance and risk management issues that combines insights and experience developed from managing regulatory enforcement activities, capacity building projects in developing countries and working as a solicitor for Traditional Owners and native title PBCs. Kai is also an ISO accredited management systems auditor. It's great to have Kai on our team!

I’m excited to join the team here at TJC. The firm provides important leadership that shapes how business, government and lawyers think about Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property – and it is privilege to be joining this passionate team and contributing to the organisation’s work in this space - Kai Sinor

Finally, meet Annabelle Burgess (Solicitor) who has legal experience in native title both domestically and internationally. Annabelle has a cross-cultural understanding of the legal issues affecting Indigenous people, gained during a 12-month university exchange in Montreal, Canada which included working in a law firm specialising in Aboriginal advocacy. Welcome Annabelle!

I am looking forward to starting my legal career at Terri Janke and Company. I am very excited by the opportunity to help on a diverse range of legal matters and learn from Dr Janke and the team - Annabelle Burgess
