Last month, Anika Valenti (Special Counsel), Meara O'Brien (Solicitor) and Josie Campbell (Paralegal) travelled to Mparntwe (Alice Springs) to support the Board of Yulara Anangu Corporation (YAC) through a week of meetings, as YAC continues to build strong foundations ahead of the return of the Yulara Township land to Anangu.
The week brought together YAC's Directors, representing beneficiary groups from across Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara lands in the Central and Western Desert regions, to progress social, cultural, economic, and community priorities ahead of divestment.

Welcoming YAC's General Manager and Communications and Marketing Manager
A highlight of the week was the introduction of YAC’s new General Manager, Nathaniel Last, and Communications and Marketing Manager, Elese Barrymore, marking an important milestone in YAC’s growth as an organisation.
Nathaniel brings over 25 years’ experience managing and operating successful businesses and shares a long family connection with Central Australia. He looks forward to connecting with Anangu tjuta and sharing more about YAC’s aim and purpose, and to working closely with YAC’s stakeholders, and the Board to build and expand on the cultural, social and economic opportunities ahead for Anangu tjuta.
Elese is a proud Wakka Wakka woman with a diverse background spanning communications, digital marketing, stakeholder management, community engagement and customer experience. In her new role, she will lead new ways for YAC to engage with community, including establishing YAC's website and growing its online presence.
Terri Janke and Company congratulates Nathaniel and Elese on their appointments, and the YAC Board for their strength and hard work to date. We look forward to continuing to support YAC as it works toward long-term self-determination for Anangu tjuta.
