Expertise

Adam is a Solicitor at Terri Janke and Company, with expertise in intellectual property, Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP), and commerce. His areas of speciality include contracting, business development and governance, copyright and trade marks.


Experience

Adam has been with Terri Janke and Company since 2018 and was admitted as a solicitor in 2023. His practice focuses on intellectual property protection, contract drafting and the development of governance models that recognise Indigenous heritage, knowledge systems and decision-making within commercial, legal and regulatory environments.

Adam’s experience in implementing strategies to protect ICIP extends across work with community organisations, universities, government agencies, Indigenous businesses and large commercial entities.

Recent Projects

Adam’s recent work includes:

  • Negotiating and drafting contracts for business opportunities and collaborations in sectors such as health, information technology, archives and museums, and government projects.

  • Preparing governance advice and drafting core governance documents for Indigenous organisations and businesses.

  • Developing ICIP Protocols and Policies for organisations and government agencies, for application across commercial, procurement, infrastructure, and environmental management projects.

  • Facilitating tailored capacity-building and training workshops across industries.

  • Providing legal and commercial support to businesses in the native bush foods and botanicals industry.

  • Preparing submissions to, and attending and representing Terri Janke and Company at, the Joint Standing Committee on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs, contributing to national discussions on Australia’s implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples.

  • Presenting on Indigenous rights and leadership in emerging cultural and economic opportunities at the 2025 AIATSIS Summit.


Community

Adam is a Yuin man from the south coast of NSW. Currently living in Sydney, he tries to visit Country as much as possible. In his free time, Adam enjoys both playing and watching various sports.
