Expertise
Daen has a background in drafting commercial agreements and providing legal advice across consumer law, privacy law, intellectual property, telecommunications, and construction. Prior to joining Terri Janke and Company, Daen worked at Baker McKenzie, advising national and international corporations on cross-border legal matters.


Experience
admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in October 2024, Daen holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Information Systems) from the University of New South Wales. His legal career began at the Tenants’ Union of New South Wales, where he worked as a paralegal from March 2020-February 2024. He then joined Baker McKenzie from March 2024-September 2025.

Recent Projects

  • Advised on transactions involving the acquisition of company shares or assets.

  • Successfully facilitated the novation of multiple subcontractors under a design and construct contract following a change in head contractor.

  • Drafted agreements for the commercialisation of intellectual property.

  • Prepared and updated privacy policies for corporate clients.


Community Engagement
Daen is a proud Kamilaroi and Yorta Yorta man living on Bidjigal Country. He is deeply committed to advancing First Nations rights and contributing to positive outcomes for community. Outside of work, Daen enjoys kickboxing, long walks, and spending time with friends and family.
