Expertise 

Matilda is a paralegal at TJC who is skilled in community consultation, law, politics, and social media communications. Matilda completed her Bachelor of Arts (Politics) (2022) and her Bachelor of Laws (2024) from the University of Sydney.


Experience

Matilda has worked in First Nations student support services for the University of Sydney and in the social media space for the Australian Council of Trade Unions, she also ran social media accounts for Yes23 during the Voice to Parliament Referendum. In 2024 she was the first intern for Airbnb ANZ where she created their cultural protocols document and worked extensively on the Reconciliation Action Plan.


During her studies she also completed the University of Sydney Service Learning in Indigenous Communities unit in 2024 where she worked in a team which established an ICIP negotiations guideline and protocols document for an Aboriginal native plant nursery.

Community

Matilda is a proud Gumbaynggirr woman who grew up on Gundungarra country in the NSW Southern Highlands and Yuin country on the NSW South Coast. As her people’s totem is the ocean, that is often where you will find her. Matilda loves snorkelling, Pilates, knitting, travelling, reading, and spending time with her friends and very large family.
