Josie Campbell is a Paralegal at Terri Janke and Company, where she supports the team through her strong organisational skills, research and writing abilities, and a keen eye for detail. She holds a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Socio-Legal Studies and Criminology, and has a strong interest in social justice, the relationship between law and society, and Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property.



Experience

Josie has experience in community advocacy work, research and education. Throughout her studies, Josie developed experience in legal and policy research, with a particular focus on Indigenous self-determination, the management of Indigenous cultural materials by institutions and the protection of Indigenous knowledge. She also has experience in editing and creating accessible educational material for high schools across Australia and Canada for numerous subjects and topics.


Community

Josie grew up on Worimi land on the Mid North Coast of NSW, with a strong respect for the community and people around her, as well as the land she lived on. She has volunteered at the Blak Markets and Sorry Day events and values opportunities that support First Nations artists and community initiatives. In her spare time, you’ll find Josie visiting local artist and farmers markets, going for a walk or reading a book.
