Piripi McIntyre Clere is a paralegal at TJC with a strong academic background in law, politics, and environmental policy. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Politics from the University of Otago and spent time studying political science at Boston College while on exchange. Piripi is particularly passionate about legal research, policy development, and writing—bringing a thoughtful, analytical approach to his work with a focus on social justice and systemic change.


Experience 

He has gained diverse experience across environmental and animal welfare sectors. Piripi assisted the Australian Commissioner to the International Whaling Commission, contributing to a report on the state of global Multilateral Environmental Treaties. He has also held leadership roles, including serving as President of the New Zealand Animal Law Association at Otago, where he championed animal welfare issues through a legal lens.

Community

Outside of his professional interests, Piripi is actively engaged in his community and personal passions. He's a regular at the beach, a loyal Sydney Swans supporter, and enjoys live music and time with friends.
